Before your first trip
The first time you open the app, you will be guided through a simple login and setup process. Once these steps have been completed, you’re ready to go!
Technical requirements
  • Functional smartphone (recent models). 
  • Android or Apple iOS. 
  • Mobile data necessary during your travels (data consumption is approximately 1 MB/hour). 
  • A valid means of payment (see accepted payment methods).
Your ticket settings
  • Define your travel class (1st or 2nd class). 
  • Enter your travel passes or cards. They will be taken into account when determining the price of your journeys - for example half-fare cards or zone abonnements of a tariff community. 
Travel with FAIRTIQ
  • In Germany: you can use the FAIRTIQ app across the entire Göttingen metropolitan public transport network, the 210 fare zone in Halle (Saale), as well as the Verkehrsverbund Mittelthüringen (VMT) fare community network.
  • In Switzerland and Liechtenstein: once FAIRTIQ is active, you can travel on the entire Swiss GA route network.
  • In Austria: you can use the FAIRTIQ app across the entire Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg network, the central travel zone of Linz, as well as the city’s Pöstlingbergbahn [mountain railway network].
  • If you transfer between vehicles, you don't need to do anything. FAIRTIQ automatically detects it. Stop your trip only once you reach your final destination.
  • At any time, present valid ticket to the inspector by clicking on "view ticket".

Share your code and ride for free. This is how:

  1. Open the menu in the FAIRTIQ app.
  2. Look for "promotions" and select "free rides".
  3. Scroll down, find your personal code and share it from the app.
