Rouen, Bern, 27 March 2025 – Using public transport in Cherbourg and its surrounding areas is now easier than ever before thanks to FAIRTIQ's innovative ticketing solution. The FAIRTIQ application, deployed by Atoumod in Normandy, has been available on the Cap Cotentin network's urban lines since the beginning of February.
FAIRTIQ makes getting from A to B incredibly simple. It has reinvented public transport ticketing which means travellers no longer have to plan their journey ahead of time. A single swipe on your mobile device starts the journey in the app. Once you have reached your destination, another swipe is all it takes to stop the journey. The mobile app works out the right fare. If you make multiple journeys in one day, it will find and charge you the cheapest fare for your public transport use over that period.
Intermodal travel could not be more straightforward with FAIRTIQ. Take the journey between Caen and Cherbourg, for example. Thanks to FAIRTIQ's innovative technology, you can hop on the Twisto tram service to Caen station, then travel by train on the NOMAD network to Cherbourg before completing the last leg of your journey on a Cap Cotentin bus. All it takes is one mobile app and one swipe.
Normandy moves a step closer to integrated ticketing
The integration of Cap Cotentin in the FAIRTIQ app brings Normandy a major step closer to its goal of creating a ticket that is valid across the region's entire public transport network. The FAIRTIQ x Atoumod mobile app has gone from strength to strength since its launch in June 2023:
- June 2023: FAIRTIQ launches in Normandy – The application is available across the Twisto (Caen la Mer) and LiA (Le Havre Seine Métropole) networks and on routes 111 and 122 of the NOMAD Car network connecting the two conurbations.
- June 2023: FAIRTIQ coverage extends to NOMAD Train network – FAIRTIQ can now be used on all train services within Normandy.
- February 2025: FAIRTIQ roll-out across the Cotentin conurbation – The Cap Cotentin network adopts FAIRTIQ's innovative technology.

Atoumod and FAIRTIQ share their thoughts on the latest developments:
There will be more good news for public transport users in Normandy during the second half of 2025. First, FAIRTIQ will be rolled out across the entire SEMO (Seine-Eure) public transport network. Second, the NOMAD Car app will extend FAIRTIQ coverage to all of the region's coach routes.
These developments not only constitute a major step towards the introduction of an integrated transport system in Normandy but are also fully in keeping with the region's intermodality and mobility goals.
