A slightly different award ceremony
On behalf of FAIRTIQ, our Business Development Manager for Austria recently accepted the 'Recognition Prize' of the ÖBB SUPPLIER INNOVATION AWARD for our Smart Journey Project. With a much smaller audience than usual and social distancing rules in place, this year's award ceremony was unlike no other.
At the Supplier Innovation Awards 2020 FAIRTIQ won the recognition prize for its Smart Journey Project, wowing the judging panel with its innovative check-in/check-out technology, post-payment system and GPS-based travel mode detection.
First-rate teamwork between FAIRTIQ and ÖBB singled out for praise.
One year ago, FAIRTIQ was awarded an international tender to supply Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) with automated ticketing technology. Soon, travellers across the ÖBB network will be able to use FAIRTIQ's simple check-in/check-out based solution.
About the ÖBB SUPPLIER INNOVATION AWARD
The ÖBB SUPPLIER INNOVATION AWARD celebrates the exceptional services and visionary projects delivered by ÖBB Procurement providers and serves to showcase these outstanding achievements among the wider public.
For the first time, ÖBB Procurement this year recognised suppliers whose projects have helped to advance the company's innovation and sustainability efforts in a substantial and meaningful way.
A judging panel, made up of in-house experts and representatives from industry, research and administration, had the unenviable tasking of choosing the winners from the large number of top-flight projects entered in the Innovation and Sustainability categories.
We are delighted that we were able to accept our award in person and would like to thank everyone at the ÖBB not only for recognising our work but also for the fantastic, socially distanced award ceremony.
