FAIRTIQ celebrates European Mobility Week with a prize draw!

It's European Mobility Week again! Starting on 16 September 2021, a host of cities across Europe will embark on a week-long campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainable urban mobility. They will be ably assisted in their endeavours by local public transport companies, a raft of organisations and schools, who will showcase the many different features and latest innovations in this field. FAIRTIQ will also be part of the action. We are seriously committed to encouraging even more people to make the shift to more sustainable modes of transport, which is why we have joined forces with our partners to give away travel vouchers with a total value of CHF 2'000.-. All you have to do to stand a chance of winning is to use the FAIRTIQ app when you travel by train, bus or tram. It's that simple.

The road to better health

Access to mobility means access to the world. It makes it easier to meet with friends, visit your favourite café, get to school or university, go to your local grocery store, enjoy a cinema date, and travel to and from work. Being able to hop on a bus, train or tram right outside your doorstep encourages you to get out and about. Travel, no matter how long the journey, helps to broaden your horizons and discover the world around you. Being on the move is simply good for your mental well-being.

Public transport use is great for your physical health, too. Instead of pounding the local streets, you can jump on the bus, train or tram and head to a nearby wood for your jogging or walking session. If Zumba is more your thing, public transport makes it easier to get to your favourite gym. Of course, you could also drive there. But this would mean that you miss out on the health benefits of the short walk to the bus stop. Also, we shouldn't forget that not everyone has access to a car. Last but not least, the more people who make the shift from the car to public transport, the cleaner the air around them will be. Travelling by public transport is therefore great for your physical health, too.

Safer, but not yet safe enough

Another central focus of European Mobility Week 2021 is public transport safety. Urban traffic accidents are responsible for almost half of all fatal accidents. There is no denying that this figure is distressingly high, but this is half of what it was only 20 years ago. Of course, every major accident is one accident too many, which is why the organisers and participants will use the platform offered by European Mobility Week to discuss and raise awareness of measures to boost road and rail safety, such as more pedestrian zones and 30 km/h speed limits.

A FAIRTIQ travel voucher up for grabs

Safe and easy travel is also a vision shared by FAIRTIQ, who has made it its mission to make public transport use as simple as possible for anyone, at any time. FAIRTIQ users always have the right ticket for their journey. All it takes is to start the journey in the app before boarding and ending it when they have reached their destination. But FAIRTIQ has another treat in store for its app users: to mark European Mobility Week, we are giving away FAIRTIQ travel vouchers with a total value of CHF 2'000.-. To be in with a chance of winning, travel with the FAIRTIQ app at least once in one of our participating FAIRTIQ partners network between 16 and 22 September 2021. That is all you need to do because FAIRTIQ will automatically enter you into this great prize draw.
