Hamburg / Bern, 17 June 2025 – FAIRTIQ and Rejsekort & Rejseplan A/S have been recognised by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) at this year’s UITP Global Public Transport Awards in Hamburg for Rejsekort as an App, receiving a Special Recognition Award. This marks the third international award in 2025 for a mobile pay-as-you-go (MPAYG) solution developed by FAIRTIQ. To coincide with the UITP Global Summit, FAIRTIQ is also publishing the first-ever MPAYG Annual Report , offering new insights into the global shift towards mobile-first ticketing.
The UITP award celebrates the success of a close collaboration between FAIRTIQ and Rejsekort & Rejseplan A/S in delivering a nationwide, easy-to-use ticketing solution for Denmark. Rejsekort as an App allows passengers to travel seamlessly across all modes of public transport, without the need for physical infrastructure. This app based solution makes public transport more accessible and flexible.
Named one of five finalists in the Technological Innovation category, the app stood alongside pioneering mobility solutions from France, Abu Dhabi, New York and Taiwan—underscoring the global relevance of Denmark’s mobile-first approach.
Earlier this year, Rejsekort & Rejseplan A/S and FAIRTIQ received the Best Passenger Experience award at the Transport Ticketing Global Awards. In the same ceremony, Occitanie Mobilités and SNCF Voyageurs were recognised for Best Commercial Strategy, both enabled by FAIRTIQ’s MPAYG technology.
With over 250 million trips across eight countries, FAIRTIQ continues to lead the transformation of public transport ticketing. The newly launched MPAYG 2024 Report reveals how the technology simplifies fare structures, encourages ridership, and drives digital innovation.
FAIRTIQ is exhibiting at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Hamburg (Hall A3, Stand 265), where it will host a series of presentations and partner sessions exploring MPAYG success stories. The summit runs until 18 June.
