Bern, 13.12.2023. FAIRTIQ, a leading provider of innovative public transport ticketing solutions, is pleased to announce the successful certification to ISO 27001:2013. This recognition underscores FAIRTIQ's continuous commitment to the highest standards of data protection and information security.
Manuel Jeckelmann, CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) and Head of Security at FAIRTIQ, emphasises, "The ISO 27001 certification reaffirms our commitment to partners and customers to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. It confirms that FAIRTIQ has a robust risk management system and is continuously working to optimise security processes."
Anne Mellano, Co-CEO of FAIRTIQ, adds: "Data and information are at the core of our business. Our partners, primarily public transportation companies and associations, rely on our management systems for data and information security to be current and effective. Such trust is not given blindly; rather, a comprehensible proof is rightfully expected. The ISO 27001 certification provides this evidence."
FAIRTIQ's certification process took around a year and involved an examination of the existing Information Security Management System (ISMS) by TÜV Rheinland. The audit not only assessed technical components but also security-relevant, data-handling processes, the applied guidelines, and the employees responsible for these processes. "The certification was a true team effort, contributed to by all FAIRTIQ employees," Jeckelmann adds.
FAIRTIQ emphasises that ISO 27001 certification is a significant milestone but by no means marks the end of its commitment to information security. The company remains dedicated to continuous improvement, aiming to meet the ever-growing demands for security and further strengthen the trust of its partners and customers.
