The Sitter Viaduct – The tallest railway bridge in Switzerland

With an impressive height of 99 meters, the Sitter Viaduct spans the picturesque Sitter Valley, connecting the cities of St. Gall and Gossau. Built in 1856, it continues to amaze with its elegance and stability.

Fun fact: Did you know that the Sitter Viaduct was originally planned as a "suspension bridge"? Engineers had to switch to a more stable design, resulting in the monumental arch shape we admire today.

Rapperswil is a picturesque town located on the shores of Lake Zurich in Switzerland, known for its medieval old town, beautiful lakeside areas, and iconic Rapperswil Castle. It is often called "the Rose City" because of the more than 200,000 roses that bloom from May to October in the gardens of the Capuchin Monastery and on the “Schanz”, including about 600 varieties.

Fun fact: The city is also famous for its "Rapperswil Rose," a special variety of rose created in 2007 in honor of the city, further establishing its unique connection to Rapperswil.
